Frequently Asked Questions for Online Courses:
Lead Paint RRP Refresher Course:
Q: Can I take the RRP Refresher course online?
YES! Finally, there is an online RRP Refresher course that does not require hands-on training. The entire RRP Refresher Course can be taken online now. We are certified by the EPA to put this course on. The cost is $99. You can access the course through our "Digital Chalk" program by clicking on the button here:
Q: I took the Initial RRP course in 2015. When do I need to take the Refresher?
The following is from the EPA's RRP Trainer Newsletter:
Renovator training expiration extended
EPA has extended the training expiration date for many certified renovators. This was done so if the proposed changes of January 2015 are finalized, many more renovators will be able to take advantage of those changes. Affected expiration dates are based on when the previous course was taken (see table below).
EPA will not be issuing new course completion certificates or other documentation to renovators saying their expiration was extended. If an employer or customer has questions about the extension the renovator can print out this guidance and show it to them, or have them call the National Lead Information Center at 800-424-5323.
Note: The extensions do not apply to firm certifications.
Renovator Training Expiration Information

Q : Can I work in any state with the EPA's RRP certification?
The RRP Rule is in effect in most states. These are the states that have different regulations. (They are called "EPA Authorized states") AL, DE, GA, IA, KS, MA, MS, NC, OK, OR, RI, UT, WA and WI. The Bois Forte Tribe also is "authorized". If you are in any other jurisdiction, the RRP certification is what you need.
Q: I thought if someone was older, and had no children in the house, they could "opt-out" of the RRP requirements. Is that still true?
No. That provision was rescinded in 2010. Work in any house built before 1978 must be done following the RRP Rule.
Q. I can not find how to get back into my account at Digital Chalk. What should I do?
The easiest way is to click on the button here. Click the "Log In" tab rather than "Create account" tab. Then enter your e-mail address and password. You should get right in and be taken back to your "classes". Click on the class. That will take you back to Your "dashboard", where you will be able to start where you left off. It is a good idea to "bookmark" the Digital Chalk Login page so you can get back there easily.
You can also get back to the "Login" page by clicking on the same button that you clicked on originally to sign up for the class.
Q. My computer froze up while taking the class. Now what?
This is probably a case of your browser (Mozilla, Chrome, Edge or Safari) freezing. The best thing to do is to close down your browser, logging off of the internet. Then log back on, going back to Digital Chalk either through the button above or through a bookmark.
